Federalist Society Tavern Debate: Defund the EPA
The Chicago Lawyers Chapter
of the Federalist Society
invites you to:
A Tavern Debate
Resolved: Defund the EPA!
Recent statements and actions show that the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has overstepped both its Constitutional bounds and its statutory bounds. No longer dedicated to its statutory mission of motivating businesses engaged in interstate not to pollute the environment, the EPA seeks today, by administrative action, to regulate every aspect of carbon use, the very building block of life on the planet. This exceeds not only statutory authorization but also any conceivable Constitutional rationale. In these days of burgeoning deficits, Americans can no longer ignore the costs of such over-regulation in dollars and individual liberty. Shouldn’t Congress - without delay - defund the EPA?
What say you? Come join the debate!
