On The Wealth of Nations
The Cato Institute is bringing humorist P.J. O'Rourke to Chicago on Thursday, February 22 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Drake Hotel, 140 East Walton Place.
O'Rourke will give a modern-day spin on The Wealth of Nations and Adam Smith's revolutionary theories on liberty: pursuit of self-interest, division of labor, and freedom of trade. Employing Smith's insights, O'Rourke will tackle such present-day topics as outsourcing, blogs, central banks, and lobbyists, to name just a few. As O'Rourke puts it, he read The Wealth of Nations "so you don't have to."
To register, please visit the Cato Institute Web site at http://www.cato.org/events/070222cs.html.
Reservations are $50 per person and $350 for a table of eight. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
