About

The Heartland Institute is always looking for talented advocates of free markets and individual liberty to join our ranks. If you are considering a career in public policy, or for new opportunities to grow personally and take on new responsibilities, we hope you will consider sending us your resume.

Heartland Policy Advisors usually hold academic positions and are unpaid. In return for reviewing manuscript and being available for interviews and feedback on projects, they receive Heartland publications and can attend most events for free. Contact Research Director Sam Karnick if you might be interested in signing up.

Heartland Senior Fellows are usually paid modest retainers to write and speak for The Heartland Institute. They typically have strong backgrounds of writing and public speaking on the issues that Heartland covers. Contact Director fo Communications Jim Lakely if you think you might want to apply to become a Senior Fellow.

Other positions are usually full-time and require working out of either our Chicago or Washington DC offices. To find out if there are any available positions and/or to submit a resume, contact Latreece Reed, Heartland's vice president of personnel. We are unable to personally acknowledge every inquiry or resume we receive.
