J. P. Wieske is president of the Council for Affordable Health Insurance.
Wieske is the former chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council's (ALEC) Health Reform Working Group and the Price Transparency Subgroup, and was named ALEC's 2008 Private Sector Member of the Year.
Wieske is regularly quoted in trade and mainstream media, and is the co-author of several publications including: "State Legislators Guide to Health Insurance Solutions;" "Health Insurance Mandates in the States;" "Understanding the Uninsured;" and the Pacific Research Institute's "What States Can Do to Reform Health Care: A Free Market Primer."
Prior to joining CAHI, Mr. Wieske was the senior government affairs specialist at American Medical Security in Green Bay, WI. He received his bachelor's degree from Carroll College, specializing in political science and economics.
