Mark Sulkin
Mark Sulkin joined the staff of The Heartland Institute in March 2012 as Heartland's Director of Development. Mark overseas the department staff and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Heartland Institute’s fundraising activities including, the major gifts program, direct mail, planned giving, cultivation, stewardship and fundraising events. The Director works closely with The Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all development and fund raising endeavors.
Mark has been involved in the not-for-profit industry for most of his career. He originally entered the field as an investment consultant working with endowments and employee pension plans of colleges, universities and cultural institutions. He subsequently entered the fundraising field and has been affiliated with a variety of non-profit organizations.
Born in Chicago, IL, Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago, and received his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. Mark and his wife Shelley resides in the northern suburbs.
