  • On the last day of its legislative session, the Georgia legislature delivered for Gov. Sonny Perdue's signature a voucher measure offering choice--and hope--to the parents of special-needs students.
  • By contrast, the Utah state board of education defied the state legislature by voting not to implement a law that would allow the state's new universal voucher program to take effect this autumn.
  • Federal Way, Washington school administrators refused to show Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth, in classrooms, saying it could not be shown unless opposing views were given equal time.
