Marcus Winters: How Pensions Hurt Teachers

Government pensions' fiscal crisis is becoming well known, but lesser-known is how the structure of such pensions hurt teachers, says Marcus Winters. He's the coauthor of a new Manhattan Institute paper discussing how teacher pensions benefit a minority of teachers while harming most. The paper also suggests two reforms that will mean more pay for teachers without higher taxes.
