Comments of Fred Goldberg, Ph.D., on EPA’s Proposed Endangerment Finding
Dr. Goldberg submitted his study of carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere and temperature. There is a natural exchange of carbon dioxide, he writes, between the ocean, land-based biomass and the atmosphere. This exchange is very large, he writes. All of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is recycled through the oceans and biomass in four to five years, he states, and the anthropogenic contribution of carbon dioxide is naturally neutralized in “as little as 12 days.” Carbon dioxide is easily soluble in the oceans, with cold water dissolving it more readily than warmer water.
