Do 1,700 Torontonians Really Die Each Year From Air Pollution?

Recent news converage of a report by Toronoto Public Health (Air Pollution Burden of Illness in Toronto: 2004 Summary) would suggest the answer to this question is cut-and-dried.  The Globe and Mail certainly didn't impy much doubt with its headline: "Death Toll From Dirty Air Isn't, Study Finds."
