The Heartlander: January 2006
January 1, 2006
The January 2006 issue of The Heartlander opens with Heartland President Joseph L. Bast's explanation for why Heartland spends time defending smokers. "It's a lost cause," said a Heartland board member, "and it surely doesn't win us any friends."
As no Heartlander was published in December, this issue briefly summarizes the November and December issues of Heartland's four public policy newspapers and IT&T News. We also report on the release of the bilingual "flip book" edition of Heartland's popular book, Let's Put Parents Back in Charge! as well as the activities of the Illinois School Choice Initiative and The New Coalition for Economic and Social Change.
