The May 2004 issue of The Heartlander announces Robert Novak as the keynote speaker at Heartland's Twentieth Anniversary Benefit Dinner, to be held in Chicago on Thursday, September 23.

The Heartlander also offers updates on the activities of The New Coalition and current Heartland projects. Heartland President Joseph L. Bast's opening essay revisits the notion of "rational ignorance" and explains how Heartland's newspapers were purposely designed to address it.
