Yes, it's happening in Japan, too. Giant Companies suddenly counting paper clips and shipping jobs overseas. Sumitomo Chemical used to export products made in its big Niihama factory from the port in nearby Kobc. But ships sailing from Kobe had to pay exorbitant Japanese freight charges and longshormen's wages. Sumitomo Chemical moved its shipping operation to Pusan, Jorea. Now sumitomo merely shepherds its goods 350 miles across the sea of Japan to Pusan.
