A funny thing happened in Georgia. On April 12, 2005, Republican governor Sonny Perdue signed a law requiring an asbestos plaintiff to present "prima facie evidence of physical impairment" from a qualified physician that shows "to a resaonable degree of certainty" that exposure to asbestos was "a substantial contributing factor" to his injuries.
