In summary, this article addresses the growing population of the uninsured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin  regardless of the fact that 91.4% of the population in the rest of the state are insured, and thereby ranking Wisconsin as the second highest percentage in the nation of residents covered by health insurance.  However, in Milwaukee County, it is estimated that approximately 113,000 to 144,000 of its citizens are medically uninsured, which is roughly 14% of the population, with the bulk of them  (82%) living in the city of Milwaukee.  Contrary, to popular belief, the majority of the uninsured are not indigent but rather live above the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) with 46% earning more than $26,660 per year.
