Nicholas Stern’s Faulty Views

British academic Nicholas Stern will testify on Thursday, June 26 before the House Energy and Commerce Committee in Washington. The former World Bank staffer is expected to discuss his “Stern Review,” a 700-page manifesto on the economic tragedies he asserts will be brought on by uncontrolled global warming.

Stern’s research is based on the Special Report on Emissions Scenarios produced by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The IPCC’s scenarios—all of which assume global warming is anthropogenic (human-induced)—have been criticized by many of the leading voices in climate science and economics
