Reduced Emissions of CO2, NOx and SO2 from U.S. Power Plants Due to the Switch from Coal to Natural Gas with Combined Cycle Technology

A January 2014 report from the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) finds increased use of natural gas due to the combination of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling technologies has led to significant reductions in many toxic emissions as well as carbon dioxide emissions from U.S. power plants.
