Six Options for Restructuring Health Insurance Tax Subsidies

In this document sent out by Heartland, the authors explain that there were 64 million under the age of 65 who receive either no tax subsidy or a partial tax subsidy for health insurance. Two-thirds, of 40.8 million, are people who are uninsured. This includes workers whose employer does not offer a health plan, nonworkers, and dependents. The remaining 23.2 million who pursue either self-employed workers and fortheir dependents with health insurance who receive only a partial tax adjustment or people who purchasei health insurauce on their own and receive no tax break.
