State Environmental Regulators On The Hot Seat

In this news article by Carolina Journal editor Richard Wagner, he details the problems with state environmental regulations vis-a-vis state regulations and federal regulations:  sometimes state environmental laws are stricter than the federal laws, and sometime less strict. One example of strict legislation concerns North Carolina's Clean Smokestacks legislation.  

Many North Carolina business also compete globally, but have to conform to federal and state regulations that their global competitors do not.  This hampers their business.  Small businesses are hampered by the environmental regulations placed on them by government officials.
