Utah House Passes Resolution Opposing Cap and Trade
The Utah House has overwhelmingly approved a resolution questioning alarmist global warming claims and calling on the federal government to abandon efforts to impose carbon dioxide restrictions.
The resolution passed the House yesterday by a vote of 56-to-17. It will now be sent to the Utah Senate for consideration. Although the resolution does not have the force of law, it sends a strong message to Washington, D.C. that congressional legislation or EPA regulations intended to restrict carbon dioxide restrictions are quite unpopular in the nation’s heartland.
“I believe in global warming,” said the resolution’s sponsor, Kerry Gibson (R-Ogden), prior to the vote. “I believe in global cooling, in [weather] cycles.”
