Stephen B. Presser

Stephen Presser is a leading American legal historian and expert on shareholder liability for corporate debts. He is frequently an invited witness before committees of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on issues of constitutional law. He holds a joint appointment with the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and also teaches in Northwestern's history department.  He is the author of Recapturing the Constitution (1994), Piercing the Corporate Veil (1991, revised annually), and the co-author of Law and Jurisprudence in American History (8th ed. 2013), as well as several other books, and dozens of articles on constitutional law, legal history, current constitutional debates, and the law of corporations.  He is a graduate of Harvard College (1968), and Harvard Law School (1971), and was twice a Fulbright Senior Scholar at University College, London.
