The Heartland Institute hosted its 2013 Emerging Issues Forum on Thursday, August 15 in Atlanta, Georgia. The event piggybacked on the annual meeting of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), also taking place in Atlanta.

The Emerging Issues Forum was a day-long policy forum where state legislators heard from the leading free-market experts exploring solutions to the top public policy issues facing states. At this premier policy event we discussed emerging issues in state public policy in the areas of energy, the economy, education, health care, and more.

More than 100 state elected officials, policy experts, and friends of Heartland attended, making it one the most successful Emerging Issues Forums ever.

Admission to the event was free for elected officials and staff. The Heartland Institute also offered a limited number of travel scholarships for members of its Legislative Forum. To join Heartland's Legislative forum, contact Robin Knox at rknox@heartland.org or by calling 312/377-4000.

This event was not affiliated with NCSL.
