Reply to Lafayette Utilities System comments on Municipal Broadband: Optimistic Plan, Disappointing Reality

Published June 29, 2005

On June 23, Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) published a reply to a Heartland Policy Study written by Senior Fellow Steven Titch, released on June 20. The LUS response claims the study contains “mistakes, misinterpretations, unsupported and insupportable claims, irrelevancies, innuendos, key omissions, and obvious untruths.”

Titch produced this response to the LUS criticism of his research. “The Heartland Institute and I stand by my reporting and analysis,” writes Titch. “The LUS essay fails to identify even one significant factual error in my study. Instead, it repeatedly misrepresents what my study says and resorts to ridiculous nitpicking.”
