Erick M. Elder

Professor, University of Arkansas at Little Rock

Erick Elder joined the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1996. His areas of specialization are statistics, macroeconomics, international economics, and public finance. Elder is also a policy advisor for The Heartland Institute.

He has published articles in a variety of high-quality economics and finance academic journals such as the National Tax Journal, Economics & Politics, and Journal of Corporate Finance, and has served as a referee for several other journals. Elder has earned national recognition for research on the appropriate size of state government rainy day funds and has published research on public pensions in high-quality academic journals.

He has served as a judge for several local and regional economic competitions and has helped coach the team that won the High School Fed Challenge national competition in 2007 and 2008.
