The U.S. Supreme Court’s refusal to hear a challenge to the Milwaukee voucher program gave a boost to the Republican Party, which has made school choice a central part of GOP education policies. Unfortunately for the GOP, the announcement of the Court’s decision came too late to improve the party’s fortunes in the November 3 election. Although an announcement on the case was anticipated for release on November 2, the day before the election, the announcement was not made until the following Monday, after the election.
