Edward Earl Weir II
Edward Earl Weir II is President of Analytical Computing in Maryland. Weir earned his BS in Chemistry from Georgia Tech, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Florida State University in 1971, while serving in the Army ROTC. Weir retired at the rank of Captain from the Army Reserve in 1986. After receiving his Ph.D. Weir did a post-doctoral fellowship in pathology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and from 1975 to 1978 a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric oncology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
After leaving Johns Hopkins Hospital, Weir joined Hittman Associates, first as a research scientist, then quality control coordinator for their analytical laboratory, then laboratory manager, where Weir studied the environmental fate and effects of various pollutants targeted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for continued monitoring and research, as well as coal liquefaction technologies.
For a short time in 1982 Weir served as quality assurance/control manager for Standard Laboratories, a nationwide chain of coal testing laboratories, before leaving to found his own custom software writing company, Analytical Computing in September 1982.
