Professor Egerton is remaining an active scholar in retirement. He is spending most of his time working on a history of ecological sciences. Current versions of this work-in-progress can be accessed at: www.esajournals.org.

In recognition of his many contributions to the field, Dr. Egerton was named the winner of the Ecological Society of America’s Distinguished Service Award for 2007.

Dr. Egerton is also writing a book on ending America’s gun problem.
