Lawrence Gasman
Lawrence Gasman has founded three technology assessment and forecasting firms and has carried out a wide range of technology-related consulting in areas ranging from optical networking to advanced materials to augmented reality. His work has included both major multinationals and high-tech start-ups as clients and he has undertaken due diligence work for investment banks, venture capitalists and leading management consulting firms.
Gasman has been quoted widely in the trade and general press and has been a frequent speaker at trade conferences on three continents. He is also the author of numerous articles on the economics of technology and of four books covering telecommunications and nanotechnology. Gasman holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics and philosophy from the University of Manchester, and advanced degrees from the London School of Economics and the London Business School.
Gasman serves as a Senior Fellow in Telecommunications at the Cato Institute, a Washington DC think tank, and as a technology policy expert with The Heartland Institute. He is a member of the board at Communications Industry Researchers, SmarTech Markets Publishing, and NanoMarkets.
