Mack Ott
His book on nation building, history and policy-The Political Economy of Nation Building, the World’s Unfinished Business (Transactions Publishing, Rutgers Univeristy)-was published in 2012. An independent consultant since 2001, he has advised the governments and central banks in more than 30 countries. Dr. Ott was US Treasury Advisor at the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia (1990-93), senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (1981-89), and on the graduate faculty of Virginia Tech (1974-78) and Penn State (1978-1981).
He has been a visiting professor at the Tblisi State University, Republic of Georgia (2007), the Institute for Higher Finance, St. Petersburg, Russia (1999), University of Erasmus University, Netherlands (1995), and University of Michigan (1989); and published widely on topics ranging from monetary economics to offshore petroleum auctions and public finance
