President, The Petroleum Connection

Peter R. Cook founded Petroleum Connection to oversee oil & gas related conferences. As president, he identifies and researches potential conference topics, recruits speakers and sponsors, and coordinates some of the highest-quality niche conferences in the oil & gas industry. Pete and Petroleum Connection have been featured in Shale Magazine, Denver Business Journal, Oil & Gas Journal, Marcellus Drilling News, Convene Magazine, Univision, and CNN.

Pete also edits the most widely read newsletter on the frac sand industry, The Frac Sand Weekly News Digest, which highlights the biggest news in the industry each week.

In addition to being a Policy Advisor for The Heartland Institute, Pete is former Vice President of the University of Dallas National Alumni Board, and he served on the Board of Directors for both the Men’s Leadership Forum in Washington, DC and the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists, as well as on the Technical Review Board at the National Environmental Health Association. Over the course of his career, Pete has served on various committees and been an active member of numerous professional associations (SPE, ASAE, NISA, TAEP, ICSC, NMHC, MBA, IBBA, NAHI, PRSM, ASHI, WISA, RFMA, SHRM, etc.).

Pete is a graduate of the University of Dallas, where he played on the men’s basketball and soccer teams and served in the student government. He lives on a farm near South Bend, Indiana with his wife and their seven children.
