Robert Krol

Professor, California State University-Northridge

He is a member of the Heartland Institute’s Board of Policy Advisors. Krol also worked as an economist at Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles and the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, California. He received his PhD in economics from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1982.

His current research focuses on regulation, transportation infrastructure issues, international trade policy and the impact of economic policy uncertainty on the economy. His research has been published in leading economics journals, including the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Public Finance Review, International Journal of Forecasting, and the Cato Journal.

He has published policy papers for the Cato Institute and Mercatus Center.  He has also published opinion articles in the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Times, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Investor’s Business Daily, U.S. News and World report, The Hill, Real Clear Markets, Real Clear Policy, economic21, and National Review Online.
