The latest news from Cook County’s budget bickering (“Stroger threatens layoffs, blames 9 commissioners,” Metro, Jan. 8) makes me believe Board President Todd Stroger and Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich are working from the same playbook, reading from the same script or have the same ventriloquist, barber or puppetmaster.
With all due respect to the Bears, the political battlefield failures in Chicago, Cook County and Springfield make me glad to be a cheesehead–in spirit, if not in residence.
