To the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the United States Senate Hearing on Climate Change (July 18, 2013), Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr. presents figures on the true impact of climate change within the past century, with regard to extreme weather and its economic cost to infrastructure both in the U.S. and globally. Dr. Pielke warns that although there is some human effect on global climate change, the scale of this effect is continually being exaggerated to ultimately serve political, rather than scientific, ends.
