Research & Commentary: Gov. Cuomo Proposes Tax Hikes that Would Inflict Greater Harm on Empire State
In her latest Research & Commentary, Samantha Fillmore analyzes the economic effects of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s 2021-2022 budget proposal. Cuomo proposed raising taxes on New York’s wealthiest residents to a whopping 14.7 percent, which would be the highest state and local tax rate in the country. In a new Research & Commentary, Tim Benson analyzes legislation in the Kentucky Senate that would establish an education saving account (ESA) program for low-income Kentucky children. With an ESA, state education funds allocated for a child are placed in a parent-controlled savings account.
