Taking the Fight to Socialists and the Climate Left

Published October 19, 2020

Sadly, 2020 will go down in history as a year of unprecedented assaults on human freedom. Americans suffered under government-mandated economic shutdowns, enforced “social distancing,” facemask requirements, and a Democratic Party that has become increasingly socialistic. And the left is already planning even more aggressive assaults in 2021.

We at The Heartland Institute are not backing down. With the launch of several new programs and social media marketing efforts, Heartland is taking the fight directly to progressives and socialists, in ways the left has never experienced before.

Of course, the task before us is not easy. Powerful international interests at the World Economic Forum (WEF) are planning in 2021 to launch a “Great Reset” of capitalism designed to eliminate social and economic freedom around the world. With the support and participation of global political leaders and international elites, the WEF pledges to “jointly and swiftly … revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions.”

Under WEF’s Great Reset, “stakeholder capitalism” will be the new capitalism, subjecting national economies to the commands of leftist identity-politics groups.

The WEF is extremely powerful, and the threat posed by its Great Reset is real, explicitly stated, and imminent.

The Heartland Institute is leading efforts to expose and oppose the Great Reset. Earlier in 2020, the head of The Heartland Institute’s Stopping Socialism Project, Justin Haskins, brought the Great Reset to the attention of one of the most influential leaders on the right, Glenn Beck. Glenn is now alerting his followers to the WEF’s plans, and Glenn and Justin are planning a special joint project to stop the Great Reset in its tracks.

Justin, who is a frequent guest on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight program, has also spoken with numerous other leading media figures about the Great Reset. Thanks to those conversations, Fox News and other media outlets have started running stories to expose the Great Reset.

Heartland’s popular Stopping Socialism website frequently updates readers about the WEF’s Great Reset plans. In the third quarter of 2020, StoppingSocialism.com earned 475,000 page views, Stopping Socialism’s Facebook pages grew to more than 185,000 followers, and Stopping Socialism’s social media efforts reached more than 3.5 million people.

The asserted “climate crisis” is a primary justification for the WEF’s Great Reset plans. Heartland continues to innovate in delivering our effective climate realism messaging. Earlier this year, Heartland launched:

  • The ClimateRealism.com website, providing concise, compelling, easy-to-understand rebuttals to the media’s climate scare of the day. f
  • The Climate Realism video project, which reaches young people with short, snappy videos—hosted by telegenic millennial Andy Singer—that debunk alarmist climate myths.
  • The ClimateAtAGlance.com website, providing concise, one- and two-page climate realist summaries of common climate change topics.

These new climate projects have been tremendously effective, earning coverage in The Washington Post, New York Times, and other establishment media outlets.

In April 2021, Heartland’s 14th International Conference on Climate Change will present the theme “The Great Climate Reset,” highlighting the incestuous interaction between socialists and climate activists.

The Heartland Institute is aggressively taking the fight to international socialists and climate alarmists who aim to take away our freedoms. The upcoming year will be challenging, but the righteous causes of freedom and liberty will prevail.
