Gary Baise, an Environment & Climate News contributing editor and leading environmental attorney, has joined the law firm of Kilpatrick Stockton LLP.

Baise is a former trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice and served as the first chief of staff to the first administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, William Ruckelshaus. He also has served in the public sector with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Commonwealth of Virginia and in the private sector as a corporate officer and vice president – external affairs for a Fortune 500 company.

Joining Baise in the Kilpatrick Stockton environmental practice will be attorneys Alexander Bullock, Stewart Fried, and Anson Keller. Together, the four bring more than a century of experience to the firm’s growing environmental practice.

“This high-profile environmental team will be a vital part of the firm’s strategic growth in the Washington market,” said Jeffery Zimmerman, an environmental attorney with the firm, in a January 13 news release. Steve Berlin, chair of the firm’s environmental practice group, added, “Their wide-ranging litigation, government, and corporate experience will be a valuable resource for Kilpatrick Stockton clients.”

Kilpatrick Stockton LLP is an international law firm with more than 470 attorneys in nine offices worldwide. The firm’s environmental practice group is headquartered in Washington, DC.
