Inconvenient Truth Producer Targets Children

Unable to convince adults that global warming is a crisis, An Inconvenient Truth producer Laurie David is trying a new tactic: Indoctrinating children to pull on their parents’ heartstrings.

Through children’s book publisher Scholastic, David this fall is launching a book called The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming, with the stated goal of using children to pressure their parents regarding global warming.

“Kids also are the number one influence on their parents, so if you want to reach the parents, go to the kids,” David told Publishers Weekly for an article published August 2.

“My primary concern is that this book is going to be marketed directly to children,” said Eric Jackson, president and chairman of World Ahead Media. “As opposed to marketing a book to parents and saying this is an informative resource to teach children about an issue, they are going directly to kids to indoctrinate them with a political agenda.

“The book is clearly political,” Jackson added. “It is a political issues book that is being presented directly to children under the guise of science. This is an inappropriate way to approach curious and impressionable children.”
