Heartland Institute senior fellow James M. Taylor will give a presentation on renewable power at an Americans for Prosperity meeting Wednesday evening at Perkins Restaurant in Overland Park, Kansas. Taylor will explain how renewable energy subsidies and mandates are punishing electricity consumers in the Kansas City region.
From there, Taylor will travel to Topeka to testify Thursday morning in the Kansas House of Representatives regarding the Kansas Renewable Standards Act. Taylor will explain how renewable power mandates are forcing Kansas electricity prices rapidly higher even though national electricity prices remain flat. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Kansas now has the highest electricity prices in the region, which drain money from Kansas households and drive businesses and jobs out of state.
The Heartland Institute will publish Taylor’s testimony here on the Environment & Climate News website.
