Speakers:
Hance Haney, J.D. is director and senior fellow of the Technology & Democracy Project at the Discovery Institute in Washington, DC. He is coauthor, with George Gilder, of “10 Principles of Telecom Reform,” published in February 2009 by The Heartland Institute.
James G. Lakely is a research fellow at The Heartland Institute and managing editor of Infotech & Telecom News. His writings on the Internet, technology, and telecom have appeared in the New York Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Chicago Sun-Times, and other newspapers
Jerry Ellig, Ph.D., a native Ohioan, has been a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University since 1996. He has held positions with the Federal Trade Commission and Joint Economic Committee of Congress; and as an assistant professor of economics at George Mason University.
Brandt Hershman is currently the majority whip in the Indiana State Senate. In 2006, he introduced legislation that revamped the state’s regulatory framework for telecommunications. The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support and has been touted as the most progressive telecom reform legislation in the country.
