Senior Fellow Maureen Martin to Appear on Texas Radio

CHICAGO, May 5, 2004–Heartland Institute Senior Fellow for Legal Affairs Maureen Martin will appear on Fox News Radio 1340/1380 (Beaumont, Texas) on Friday, May 7, 2004 from 7-7:30AM CST. Martin will discuss the latest outrages in lawsuit abuse, several of which are highlighted in the most recent edition of Lawsuit Abuse Fortnightly, a publication of The Heartland Institute.

Formerly a partner in a large Chicago law firm, Martin has been in the private practice of law for more than 22 years, concentrating in general litigation and environmental law. She was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1981 and has also been admitted in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She has received the highest possible rating of AV for legal ability and legal ethics from Martindale-Hubbell. From 1991 through 2002, she was an adjunct professor of environmental law at Loyola University Chicago.
