Stop Stimulus

Published July 12, 2009

Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, should be commended for his efforts to stop the bleeding of taxpayer money by halting stimulus spending (“Stimulus has been slow but is needed,” July 8 Eagle Editorial). Spending the rest of the stimulus money would serve only to increase our national deficit and put future generations in an even more precarious fiscal position.

The real remedy for economic malaise is to reduce and eliminate the government barriers obstructing the invisible hand that moves our economy faster, cheaper and more efficiently than any government stimulus package could ever do.
