Thanks, Although We Disagree

Dear Popular Science:

I enjoyed Gregory Mone’s strong put-down of Michael Crichton’s best-selling novel, State of Fear.

As a full-time scientist myself, I do not commonly read fiction, but Mone’s review led me to buy and read Crichton’s book. It was an interesting mix of science and fiction. I decided to follow up and read a number of the scientific papers Crichton referenced in the novel.

In the end I was persuaded Crichton really does have a strong case for his position that human-caused global warming is no cause for alarm.

Thanks for bringing State of Fear to my attention, even if the result was not what the reviewer had intended.

Keep up the good works of Popular Science
