The future of health care in America — including mandates, consumer-driven health care, costs, and medical-care rationing — will be discussed by a panel of policy experts Thursday, February 25 in downtown Richmond.
“The Obama administration and Democrats in Congress suffered a major setback in their plan to overhaul the U.S. health care system, but their efforts continue,” said Peter Fotos, director of government relations for The Heartland Institute, co-sponsor of the roundtable discussion. “Medical professionals, opinion leaders, civic and business leaders, and concerned citizens must keep up on the latest overhaul plans, and this roundtable will help them do exactly that.”
Besides Fotos, speakers at the half-day roundtable include Ben Domenech, managing editor of Health Care News, one of Heartland’s five monthly policy newspapers; Peter Ferrara, author of Heartland’s recent Policy Study, “The Obama Health Plan: Rationing, Higher Taxes, and Lower-Quality Care”; and Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia, a co-sponsor.
The roundtable opens at 9 a.m. at the foundation’s office at 830 East Main Street in Richmond, 12th floor and concludes at noon. Refreshments will be served.
