Exclusive launch event in Central London on Dec. 17 featured MP Nigel Farage and Lois Perry, director of Heartland UK/Europe
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – The Heartland Institute, a free-market think tank known globally as the world’s most prominent think tank supporting skepticism about man-made climate change, has officially established a beach-head overseas.
Heartland founded Heartland UK/Europe this week with Lois Perry as Executive Director. She will leverage Heartland’s science-based work pushing back at climate alarmism and schemes such as Net Zero from London where she can communicate directly with policymakers in the UK and the Continent. “The Heartland Institute has a proud history of providing research and resources that shape conservative and freedom-oriented policymaking in the United States,” said Heartland Institute President James Taylor. “During recent years, a growing number of policymakers in the UK and continental Europe have requested Heartland establish a satellite office to provide resources to conservative policymakers throughout Europe. With our UK and European launch, we aim to fulfill this requested impact throughout Europe, championing the principles of liberty and economic prosperity in an era of increasing regulation and anti-growth policies.”
The Heartland Institute has hosted 15 International Conferences on Climate Change in the US, Europe, and Australia. Its Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) was established in 2008 to counter the United Nations’ political Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This new expansion for Heartland will give the institute’s impact on global debates, on climate issues and others, even more resonance and foster greater transatlantic cooperation to advance individual liberty and economic freedom.
“The Launch of Heartland UK/Europe is a signal of our commitment to bringing bold, evidence-based solutions to the forefront of European policy discussions,” said Heartland UK/Europe Executive Director Lois Perry. “By uniting key leaders and thinkers from both sides of the Atlantic, we are fostering a vital dialogue to counter ideologically driven overregulation and advance policies that empower individuals and communities.”
The official launch of Heartland UK/Europe will take place at an event at in London on the evening of December 17. Among the prominent leaders, policymakers, and supporters who will speak at the event is special guest of honor Nigel Farage MP, who was the keynote speaker at The Heartland Institute’s 40th Anniversary Benefit Dinner in September. Farage also sat down with Heartland Institute President James Taylor for an exclusive interview about the global conservative moment.
The Heartland Institute has worked with hundreds of prominent climate scientists and policy experts from all over the world, including Fred Singer, Richard Lindzen, Robert Carter, Tim Ball, William Gray, Christopher Essex, Christopher Monckton, Ross McKitrick, Nir Shaviv, Ian Plimer, William Kininmonth, Willie Soon, S.
