Climate realists addressed more than 50,000 people turning out for a Polish Independence Day rally in Warsaw yesterday, reminding people that United Nations programs to restrict energy options in the name of fighting global warming impoverish people and strip away important freedoms.
David Rothbard, president of the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), told the crowd United Nations global warming programs are attempting “a complete economic transformation of the world.”
“This is not good news for those who love freedom, and it is not good news for Poland,” said Rothbard.
CFACT and the European Institute for Climate and Energy (known by its German acronym EIKE) are sponsoring a scientific conference and meetings in Warsaw throughout the month calling attention to the strong scientific evidence that humans are not creating a global warming crisis.
“We stand for freedom. We stand for opportunity. We stand for our families. And we stand for a strong and prosperous future. Together let us be bold as a lion,” said Rothbard to the thousands of flag-waving Poles celebrating their hard-fought independence and national rebirth at the culmination of World War I.
Communist rulers, answering to Soviet overseers, moved Polish Independence Day to July 22 after World War II. The date was chosen to celebrate the communist assumption of power in Poland after World War II. In 1989, after the nation’s liberation from communist rule, Polish leaders restored Independence Day to November 11.
The United Nations is holding global warming talks this month in Warsaw. The talks have been overshadowed by fallout from a recent United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report that backpedals from previous claims of a global warming crisis. The IPCC report acknowledged temperatures in the real world are warming much more slowly than previous IPCC projections.
