Flying several hundred miles to buy a cheeseburger is apparently one of the preferred ways to save the Earth, according to Hollywood actor and environmental activist Harrison Ford and Charity Buzz’s Save the Earth Promotion.
Charity Buzz teamed with Christie’s auctioneers and four environmental activist groups “to form a unique partnership, to raise awareness and funds for the protection of our planet.” One of the most sought-after items was an opportunity to “take to the skies with Harrison Ford.” The winning bidder won an appointment with Ford for some recreational flying out of the Santa Monica Municipal Airport.
“This adventure begins when you and a guest fly Delta BusinessElite to Los Angeles to meet legendary actor and conservationist, Harrison Ford. Fly with him out of Santa Monica Municipal Airport to lunch in one of his amazing aircrafts after enjoying a rare photo opportunity,” Charity Buzz announced.
According to Ford, “I’m so passionate about flying I often fly up the coast for a cheeseburger. Flying is like good music; it elevates the spirit and it’s an exhilarating freedom.” (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1251762/Harrison-Ford-I-love-flying-planes-riding-bikes-Thats-Ive-got-of-nine.html)
Charity Buzz did not disclose how much carbon dioxide would be emitted in the Harrison Ford joyride.
