How many people participated in the Taxpayer March on DC on September 12? Despite frequent reports in the mainstream media of “tens of thousands” of protesters, the actual number may have been closer to one million, making it the largest march on Washington in history.
“I estimate attendance was 700,000 to a million,” says Sandy Liddy Bourne, executive director of American Energy Freedom Center, who attended the event and says she learned how to estimate crowd sizes by attending many past marches.
“I was just stunned” by the turnout, she said. “This business of just tens of thousands is just not accurate. There were already that many by 9:00 in the morning,” she said.
