As part of the DreamMakers initiative to reach affluent individuals who value a multicultural perspective, Northern Trust recently hosted a reception on behalf of The New Coalition. The New Coalition is a nonprofit conservative African American think tank within The Heartland Institute.

“DreamMakers creates a safe environment whereby successful African American individuals, private investors, and socially responsible individuals comme to expand peer relationships and exchange ideas that enhance lives, enrich families, and improve communities,” said Vice President Clark Delanois. “By supporting events such as this reception for The New Coalition, Northern is able to quickly build relationships with prospects in the affluent African American community.”

Lee H. Walker, director and founder of The New Coalition, is a nationally recognized mainstream African American leader. He introduced featured speaker Dr. Hardy Murphy, superintended of Evanston/Skokie School District 65.

“Attendance at the event exceeded our expectations,” Clark said. “It is encouraging to build momentum through smaller events such as this as we begin planning for the next DreamMakers‘ conference.”
