The Obama administration’s National Climate Assessment fails miserably on even the most basic science, Heartland Institute senior fellow Peter Ferrara explains on Forbes.com.
Perhaps the Assessment’s most important claim addresses climate model predictions. The Assessment claims “as these data records have grown longer and climate models have become more comprehensive, earlier predictions have largely been confirmed.” However, as Ferrara shows, the discrepancy between real-world temperatures and climate model predictions grows larger every year. In all other scientific endeavors, a growing disparity between scientific predictions and scientific observations falsifies the predictions. In the nonsensical world of climate alarmism, such a growing disparity is presented as proof the predictions were correct.
Ferrara similarly takes apart the Assessment’s assertions that global warming is causing reductions in agricultural production and increases in extreme weather events.
“In light of the incontestable real climate science discussed above, the Obama Administration’s National Climate Assessment released last week can only be considered an exercise in calculated deception, and public manipulation,” writes Ferrara.
