Today at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Republican Study Committee Chairman Steve Scalise (R-SC) will lead a discussion of the harmful impacts of a carbon tax on American families and small businesses. The RSC will also unveil a resolution opposing efforts to implement a national carbon tax.

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) event signals Republicans are standing firm against environmental activist efforts to lure liberal Republicans to join calls for a carbon tax to address global warming.

Other Republican congressmen taking part in the event are RSC Energy Task Force Chairman Joe Barton (R-TX), Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC), Rep. John Fleming (R-LA), Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), Rep. Doug Lamalfa (R-CA), Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY), and Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX).
