- Of the 920,000 high school football players, only 50,000, or 5.5 percent, will play at an NCAA school. Only 215, or 0.02 percent, will play in the NFL.
- Of more than 515,000 high school basketball players, only 13,000, or 2.5 percent, will play at an NCAA school. Only 60, just 0.01 percent, will play in the NBA.
